The Swallow Chaucer Hotel has been approved by Canterbury City Council for the solemnisation of civil marriages. There is a charge to use the hotel as a marriage venue, and it's a requirement that the wedding reception must also be held at the hotel.
Within the hotel, two rooms have been licensed for marriages. The Regency Suite will seat up to 90 and benefits from natural light and is setup with its own dance floor. The Ivy Suite will seat up to 30 is beautifully laid out and is ideal for smaller more intimate weddings.
The hotel reserves the right to ask for minimum numbers of guests on certain dates, details of which are advised at the time of booking. The maximum capacity is 90 Guests for a sit down meal, with 125 guest for the evening reception. Complimentary overnight accommodation with breakfast for the bride and groom is included on bookings with over 60 paying guests.
